A continuation...

Here is a continuation of my "photo portfolio". I realized I didn't show off my talent as much as I could have.

A final goodbye...

Well, this summer, there have been some interesting changes go on in my life. I have lived at my sister's and gotten to nanny the cutest baby in the world (Chelsea, my niece) and I have had to start thinking about important, adult decisions, such as paying for school and organizing my whole life around all of that. I had to find some new roommates, whom I am excited to get to know and I watched one of my best friends (and roommates from last year) get married, which is still crazy. I also had to say goodbye to one of my best friends who moved just today, which makes me really sad. :( But more than all that, I had to help my big sis, Big Lis, move to Utah.

Saturday was the day of the big move. Lisa and I started our drive from Erie (Nat and Joe's) at 9:40 am. It was a rainy day, literally and metaphorically speaking. The drive started off horrible... It took us AN HOUR to drive the first five miles of I-25 due to a stupid car accident. Then, about fifteen minutes later, we reached a bunch of construction. It took FoREveR to get out of the flippin' state of Colorado. Not fun! Well, turned out we actually made decent time getting into Utah. It was sunny and bright in the beautiful state and I loved it!

Sunday I helped Lisa move all her stuff in the house and she, somewhat, settled in. Looks like she'll have a cozy home and she sure seems excited to start off school at Utah Valley University.

Well on the way there, I realized that Lisa was actually moving and who knows when or if she'll ever come back. :( I was sad. She is my favorite second oldest sister and I will miss her, but more than anything I will miss singing my "Lisa" songs to her. Here is a sample of some of the songs:

My favorite to sing:

(To Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody")

Lisa, just killed a man
put a gun against his head,
pulled my trigger now he's dead
Lisa, life had just begun
And now you've gone thrown it all away

Lisa, Oooooooo
didn't mean to make you cry
but I'll be back again this time tomorrow
carry on, carry on
Nothing really

(This on is sung to Carrie Underwood's "Jesus Take the Wheel")

Lisa take the wheel
take it from my hand
cuz I can't do this on my own
I'm letting go
so give me one more chance
to save me from this road I'm on.
Lisa take the wheel

(And the best of them all: Bowling for Soup's song :"Life After Lisa")

I'm waking up and bakin'
Watching the parade cause todays the day I got over you
Taking out the trash and the pictures that I stashed
Of the two of us in 1992

You stole my heart when Eddie Veder was king
I gave you a foot massage, I gave you my ring
You left me for a drummer cause you said I couldn't sing
But that's ok

Cause there'll be
No more mountain climbing the rain
No more long hair clogging up the drain
No more life will never be the same
Life after Lisa is not so bad at all

I'll bet you're saying to yourself
That you'll find somebody else like me
But all I've got to say is there ain't no way
That you're getting me to say I'm sorry, not today

No more mountain climbing in the rain
No more long hair clogging up the drain
No more life will never be the same
Life after Lisa is not so bad at all

Cleaning up the house again
Listening to house of pain
Having headaches in my brain
Listening to you complain

Shopping at the mall again
I'm out of rhymes I've gotta say
Life after Lisa is not so bad at all

Well there you have it. My final goodbye to Lisa. Goodbye Lisa!

HiDdeN TalEnT??

This summer I have been living with my sister (Natalie) and brother-in-law (Joe) and have been a nanny to their little 8 month old baby girl, Chelsea. Chelsea is the cutest thing ever and so, of course, I love taking pictures of her. She is like a baby model. Well, Joe bought this new camera that I have been using, mostly because it is just amazing.

So I started telling Joe that I thought I was really good at taking pictures of Chelsea and getting very artistic shots. Of course, this made Joe try to get an even better shot of her. It finally started turning into a huge competition and a very very very competitive one. It's like that stupid Pokemon Snap game where you have to try and get the best pictures of each Pokemon. Chelsea is just a cute little Pokemon, like a cuddling little Jiggly Puff.

I will admit, Joe made it quite a challenge for me to get a better picture, but I think I still have WaY better pics of her. The arguments went on and on and on about whose were better and what not. So finally, to settle this, Joe posted on his own blog, a little poll to see whose were truly the better pictures.

The poll lasted five days and were the longest five days of my entire life. We neck to neck pretty much the entire time. For the most part, I was ahead but Joe was known to make a few amazing come-backs. It was quite intense. But at eight o'clock on Friday, August 15th, I WoN!! Yes sir, I did. Clearly I won because my pics were better. Clearly I won because a majority of the people that voted thought I had the better shot. Clearly I won. The score was 20-23. A whopping ThREe points ahead. Woo!! *celebrating*

So Joe, please stop being such a sore loser and just admit, my pictures are better.

Anyway, there are few samples of my work in this post. My
portfolio, if you will.

This is Why I Love America!!

Well, it's that time again... time for the Olympics. Ever since I was little, I have loved watching the Olympics, whether it was the summer or winter year, I was always down for watching. My sisters and I would play that we were in the games, mostly gymnastics and figure skating. I will share with you a good way to play that you are in the Olympics.

For our first event, you will
need probably about 3 participants (I imagine more makes for more fun) a large, unzipped sleeping bag, preferably blue, and leotards or swimming suits for each player. Lay out the sleeping bag, in a large, open area. Everyone needs to be dressed in their outfits, with their hair pulled back in a super tight, and super cute ponytail. Glitter in the hair and on the face is encouraged. Take turns doing routines as they would in floor exercise at the Olympics, the real Olympics, and score each other. The winner, obviously, takes gold.

Next event is the balance beam. You will need your same leotard (or swimming suit) and baby powder. Take all the cushions off the couch and put some b
aby powder on your feet and hands. Use the very edge of the couch as the balance beam. Be careful though, it is likely that the frame of your couch is not the same four inches in width as the Olympic balance beam. So do not attempt any flips, just keep to the basic turns and prancing tricks. Then, once again, score each other. Winner takes gold.

So our last event is actual one from the winter Olympics, but still a good one. You will need a pair of roller blades and le
otard and maybe a cute, short, flowing skirt. You will also need a wide open area, preferably in a round, skating rink, shape. Then give it your all and score each other again. If you have more than five players, try doing doubles.

After the game is over, comes the most important part... the medal ceremony. Don't forget to play the national anthem!

Good luck!

I love the Olympics and have loved watching America kick some serious trash, especially in swimming (Go Phelps!) And I am so glad that Shawn Johnson and Nastia Liukin wiped out the silver and gold in Women's All-around from the Chinese. THIS is why I love America.... cuz we're so freaking amazing at everything we do. Plus, are any of those Chinese girls over the age of 15? Are they even over the age of 13? I would bet they aren't. Oh well, Go USA! I hope we continue to do so well! Woo! And did I mention that I LOVE watching the Olympics??

Why the New Look?

Well, there is a new look here, for my blog, and along with a new blog I am contemplating a new name. My old look/name is so little kid and I've grown up a lot this summer. My life has changed a lot and so I need to have my blog reflect that change. haha Ok, who am I kidding? I haven't changed, I just wanted a new background, ok? And I'm sick of the name of my blog so I think I might think of a new one.

<3 texting.

So I think texting is really funny. It is so addicting and everyone (under the age of 23) does it. Sometimes though, you just have to send a text to your parents or older siblings. The thing is that not everyone knows the "texting lingo" which really is important to know, or the conversation could be ruined. So I decided that I would write out a few of the definitions for those of you who do not know some of them already.

We'll start off with a few of the basics:

lol- Laugh out loud. A personal favorite.

idk- I don't know.

bff- Best friend forever.

:)- "smile"

b/c- Because.

jk- Just kidding.

omg- Oh my gosh. Another favorite of mine to use.

Some more advance abbreviations:

lmao- Laughing my arse off

<3- "heart".

ttyl- Talk to ya later.

btw- By the way.

brb- Be right back.

g2g- Got to go.

L8R- Later.

Some "EXPERT" phrases:

ba- Bad A$$.

bamf- something you just shouldn't say unabbreviated.

wtf- shouldn't say that either.

cfmps- don't even ask.

Some that I made up, because I thought it was needed:

yaai- You are an idiot.

ihy- I hate you.

swisi- Smell what I'm stepping in? (pronounced swy-sie)

b-i-l - Brother-in-law.

bfs- boyfriend stealer.

y...a- yeah...and?

Well, let me know if there are any more, not that I expect anyone will leave a comment on this blog because only like four people know about it. lol (laugh out loud)
